They are acutely aware of what they believe is a lack of faith on their part. Knowledge from God's word concerning what faith is, how it comes, and why it is important will help us be more effective in this area. As Christians we are instructed to live by faith (Rom 1:17). Although the Sermon on the Mount is probably one of the most famous portions of scripture, it is also on of the most misunderstood. Some maintain that in this sermon Jesus was giving us a code of ethics by which all men should live. Others say that Jesus was describing what life will be like in the kingdom He will establish on earth as His Second Coming and it does not apply to us today. And, parts of the sermon look as though Jesus was giving us a new set of very strange rules: If someone hits you, let them hit you again. You can't take an oath in a court of law. If you call someone a fool, you'll go to hell, etc. By looking at the historical, religious, and cultural background of the Sermon on the Mount we will find out what Jesus had in mind when He taught this sermon. TH838 - Identification

In this impact course we are going to study identification. Although the term identification is not familiar to many Christians, understanding of the subject itself is vital to victorious Christian living. Identification refers to our complete union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. If that statement doesn't make you want to stand up and cheer, you need this course. You see, we weren't there when Jesus was crucified, died, buried, and raised from the dead, but what happened there affects us as though we were there. That's identification. Our identification with Christ at the Cross and His identification with us is the basis of all that we are and have as Christians. In this course we will explain what identification is, with the goal of helping us walk in the reality of it. Understanding identification will help us be and do all that God intends for us to be and do in this life.

ST851 - Becoming Like Jesus

The Bible is the story of God's desire for a family and the lengths to which He went to obtain that family. Before God ever formed the earth He planned that we would be made son of God and be conformed to the image of Christ (Eph 1:4,5; Rom 8:29). Jesus is the pattern for God's family. In this course we are going to talk about becoming like Jesus. We will consider what that means. We will look at what Jesus is like, as well as at the process by which we are made like Jesus. With that knowledge we can cooperate with god more effectively as He conforms us to the image of Christ (II Cor 3:18).

ST855 - Geography of the Holy Land

In this course we are going to study the geography of the Holy Land. Geography refers to the natural features of an area. Studying the geography of the lands on which the events of the Bible occurred can help us in our understanding of the Bible. It can make the people and the events of the Bible more real to us by establishing the reality of the places in which events occurred and people lived. In this course we will look at the five basic geographic regions in the land on which teh event of the Bible unfolded, and we will look at how facts such as mountains, valleys, weather patterns, etc. influenced the lives of the people who lived in the lands of the Bible.

ST859 - The Love Walk

As Christians we are only under one law, the Law of Love (Matt 22:37-44; Rom 12:8-10). When Jesus was on earth He was asked, "What is the greatest commandment?" He answered that the greatest commandment is: Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and the second is like the first: Love your neighbor as yourself. Then, Jesus said, "All that is written in the Law and the Prophets is summed up in these two commandments". In other words, if you learn to walk in love -- to love God and your fellow man -- you will perfectly please and obey God. To sin is to step outside of love either in regard to God or to man. In this course we want to deal with some important aspects of the love walk to help us grow in our ability and effectiveness in obeying the Law of Love.

We are to allow the Holy Spirit to make us into people of godly INFLUENCE (Dynamic Leaders from God's purposes). This course explores 16 Laws of Leadership.

ST857 - Character of God

In this course we are going to study the character of God -- what God is like. We will focus specifically on the fact that God is good and good means good. It is vital that you know that troubles in your life do not come from God. Jesus said so. He said: God good, devil bad (John 10:10). In this course we will look at where trials come from and how God uses the hardships in life. We will look at what Jesus shows us about the character of God. And, we will deal with a number of "Yes, but what about...?" questions. When you know God's character you need never have any doubt about what in you life has come from God. You need never have any doubt about what God is doing in your life.
